This move was one of the worst experiences of my life thanks to "Superior" Moving System. First Sandra grossly underestimated our cubic footage and when questioned stated that they went by weight - Lie #1. I made the mistake of choosing them because she was friendly and promised flexibility, no extra charge for weekends or holidays. That was true, but they certainly made up for it in other areas. I called a few days before our move to say there was no way we were going to have only 40 boxes and she said to call back Friday or Saturday (- Lie #2) when we knew for sure how many so she could redo the estimate. She told me that it would be about $250 for 20 more boxes - Lie #3. There is no one there on Saturday, so there was no binding estimate when the movers came. Sandra told me that they only use their own trucks and never hire out work - Lie #4.
The primary mover, Eli, was very nice. He also talked us into leaving many of our things by telling us that it would cost more than they were worth to move them. They only packed half of my son's Bow-flex (it was dark when they left so we didn't notice till the next morning), so he couldn't sell it there or use it here. The workers with Eli did not speak English and he had to tell them what to do. They loaded in a Ryder truck. Eli said that they were taking it to their big rig. If I had not been so exhausted and anxious to get to my husband I would have stopped them when I saw the truck. I SHOULD have. 10 hours later I was told that they had to leave because they were being paid overtime so could I please just sign the papers so they could go. The payment was 3 times the original estimate. Again, I was totally exhausted and just wanted to go. I hoped that we could work it out when we got there. I signed the papers with Eli agreeing that they would be there on January 8th.
The morning of the 8th I called to see what time the truck would be coming since I had family coming from around the state to help get us settled. I was then told that the truck would be here sometime between the 10th and the 15th. It was still in California waiting for a full load. On the 10th I called and was told that it was on its way to Las Vegas to unload and load another load then would get to us The 13th or 14th. The 13th I was told the 15th. The 15th I was told the 16th or 17th. The 17th we were given the number of the driver. My husband talked to him. He had left California that morning and was just in Arizona. He told us that he would be in Oklahoma on the 19th. After my husband told him what we had been through, he drove his maximum hours and got to us on the 18th. During these 10 days we slept on air mattresses and sat on camp chair that my sister loaned us. Thank goodness we had those. No TV, computer, meds that my husband and I both are on because we expected the truck to be here on the 8th, clothes for interviews for my daughter and I, and my son's work clothes for his job he had.
I informed "Superior" Moving System that I would be writing this to the BBB and my husband informed them that he was refusing to sign away his rights to sue for damages before receiving our belongings. The local movers hired to help unload here were wonderful and volunteered to be witnesses against "Superior" Moving System if needed in regard to the condition of our belongings on arrival. Many of our boxes were damaged as if thrown around. The top of my antique china hutch was crushed and several of my pictures and bowls were broken. Believe me, I won't hire professional movers again. My things are much safer with me. They will arrive on time with me. It won't cost my retirement either.
As for the stars below, If I could take the one star away, I would. I hope that this review helps someone make a more advised decision. There were no reviews on this company when I looked.
