Do Not Use Rosslare for Access Control
|
We are an electrical contractor which also diversifies into installing security products. We have installed about 15-20 Rosslare Access controllers over the last 3 years. Last summer we installed 6 units in various schools. Within 2 months we had 2 controllers fail and needed to be replaced...a 33% failure rate!!! Then we were forced to purchase additional units and install them and send the defective ones in for repair. So we had to purchase 4 units to install 2..they said that was their policy. This summer just before one year installed, another one failed so we attempted to replace the controller card with one of the units that Rosslare had sent back to us that was supposed to be "repaired" it didn't work when we installed it. So we tried the card from the 2nd unit that had been "repaired" it also did not work. The tech at Rosslare verified the two cards "repaired" were defective, sent out a new one overnight and we had the system working properly in an hour. Rosslare refuses to offer ANY compensation to our loss of 15 man hours, and 120 miles of travel. They did not even offer to replace the two defective cards that were supposed to be brand new!! Their equipment has a very high failure rate, and you as an installer or purchaser will be left hanging WHEN it fails. There are several other access control companies out there, DO NOT USE ROSSLARE!! Brad Winters Indi-Com Electric & Surveillance Waukon, IA
