My gripe is with Pulishers Guide Magazines. I received a phone call on July 15, 2010. I ordered some magazines for the price of $38.42; however, the sales presentative tried to intice me to buy the extended subscription for a price of $57.48. I refuse the higer price, and was courteous by subscribing to the cheaper one. My credit card was charged the higher price of $57.48 without my authorization! I discovered the "mistake" or "fraud" on Saturday July 17, 2010. The company was closed! The money was charged to my account IMMEDIATELY! I am furious and cannot wait until the company's business hours. I am canceling my subsciption before any magazines are shipped. I have never had this kind of misunderstanding before because the conversation was recorded, so there could have been any "misunderstanding" on the company's behalf. I am not reporting the incidence to the BBB, but if I do not get my full refund, I am contacting the Office of Comsumers Affairs...Division of Consumer Protection of Florida. Moreover, I will post a comment about MY experience with Publishers Guide on Facebook! It isn't the amount of money; rather, it is the "unauthorized" and abuse of my credit card!
