Dishonest business practices. Be leery if working with this company or any of it's associations. Some other names they work under: M.Timm Development Inc, Real Estate Construction and Development, La Pacifica Apartment Homes are to name a few. I am a hardworking individual who is honest and has always worked to do the right thing. I had moved to Moreno Valley, CA and moved into La Pacifica Apartment homes. When I moved in the lady walked through the apartment with me marking down things that needed to be fixed, had me initial and that was it. I thought it was odd at the time but didn't think too much of it. I was new to California and thought that was how they did the walk through. The apartment was disgusting and I had to thoroughly clean it before moving in. Then when I moved out that is when everything went crazy. I had went to turn in my keys asked the lady when she was going to do a walk through. She said they do it a couple days after I move out, I didn't know better I gave her the keys and gave her my forwarding address. A couple days went by and I called to check up on the walk through. She said they hadn't done it yet but would let me know. I followed up two more times same answer. I thought it was odd. Then about a month later I get a collections call from Hunter Warfield for the collection of a balance of 1324.38 owed to La Pacifica! I have never had any issue with an apartment complex I scrub and clean so well and I have NEVER been sent to collections EVER! I was astonished. I called La pacifica asking what had happened. They said I had to speak with the collections company. I explained that I had never got a statement what happened? She said I have to deal with the collections company. I couldn't believe it. I then stopped by the office, letting the office manager know I was just following up on my apartment since I never heard anything and if I could get a copy of my lease that I never received and a statement of anything that was outstanding. She gave me the lease and then the statement. I asked why I hadn't been sent a letter or called. She said they had sent one, but I never received anything and my mail was forwarded. She said it must have been mail error. Then why would they send me to collections if I had called three times, left my forwarding address and they had my phone number! Once she provided me a statement of damages I was appalled! They were charging me full replacement cost for all the flooring, painting the walls everything. They were redoing the apartment at my expense! I couldn't believe it. Even if I had damaged everything by law you can only charge a prorated amount of the time I lived there and not normal wear and tear. Be Aware do not rent from them!
