I signed my son up with karate America for self defense classes. They require you to sign a contract saying that you will make payments of 150 a month until his program is completed (it's nearly a lifetime thing) unless you cancel the contract at which point they will charge a 150$ cancellation fee.
About six months into the classes they charged me twice in one month and refused to refund the second payment saying that I never paid his third month of classes. They said that the extra amount would be credited to that third month balance. After providing records from my bank of the cashed check that I used to pay that third month they still refused saying that they never received that payment. I canceled with them. I refused to pay an additional 150$ dollars since they had already mistakenly took that amount and now they are trying to hit me for more than 6,000 dollars on the cost of the lifetime program. They are unwilling to correct their own mistakes and are just looking for ways to rip off good hardworking families. They have no idea how to handle money or customers.
