Just Plain Awful

Save yourself the disappointment and future surgeries and don't come here. Dr. Marco Sariñana did a horrible job on my breast lift and other surgeries. So much so that I will have to have additional surgeries to fix what he destroyed. Yes, DESTROYED!! If Dr. Sariñana was in the US, I would be suing him for malpractice. I was offered corrective surgery to fix Dr. Sariñana mistakes at a cost of an additional 1700.00 US. More money is a reoccurring theme with this hospital. There were so many things that went wrong. Carlo didn't give me the correct date for my surgeries. He scheduled them the day I flew in. So after a long day of travel, driving to the hospital in a hot van (no AC) in temperature of 110°+, I arrive at the hospital at 2p dehydrated and told I am going into surgery at 8p. The first thing I had to do was pay for the surgeries. I am glad I saved all my emails from Carlo because Maritza tried to charge me more. Even when I showed her the email, she said it was an old quote. However, she wanted my money more than she wanted to have me cancel right there, so the quote was honored for the time being. I was so dehydrated that the nurse had to poke me 3 times before she could keep a vein from collapsing. I was never given the opportunity to speak with the doctor about what I wanted done or my expectations. So, when you see “presentation of surgical plan" in your paperwork, that’s not going to happen. When I did see the doctor, he had me stand naked in front of a room full of people while he drew marks on me. After a few minutes, I was guided to a table to lay down. Next thing I remember, I am waking up. The two days in the hospital were fine. Mexican nurses don’t cater to you but neither do US nurses. All of the nurses were great and helpful. Language was never a problem because most of the staff spoke some English and Google Translate helped with the rest. The hospital is clean and functional, but not over the top like the US. I can reason that is one way they keep their cost down. After I was discharged from the hospital and going to the hotel, Maritza tells me that I might owe more money because of the mistake Carlo made the quote. After I told Maritza that I had a strict budget for everything and no more money to give, the problem with the money was dropped. I wasn’t given any instructions on how to care for myself after I was discharged. So basically, I was on my own. However, I did get my receipts for the money I paid the day before I left Mexico (13 days later), but was never given any medical records. The only good experience I had was with the private nurses that I hired to care for me. I came alone and was sure I would need help. I am glad I made that decision. They were amazing!! My best advise, find someone else. There are great doctors in Mexico, however this hospital don’t have them.
