I called Fisher plumbing two weeks ago tonight (a Saturday night) after a terrible experience with a local Plummer who had a full page advertisement in the yellow pages. I needed two items in the house fixed.
When I asked the other pluming company when they could come out, they replied "right now". I asked if there was an extra charge and the dispatch person said "of course not"! Needless to say the "SHADY Plummer" who will remain nameless quoted $45.00 for the estimate to analyze the problem and then told me I would get a firm quote and could apply the $45.00 to the repair job.
I explained to the SHADDY PLUMMER the dishwasher was over flowing. He said I need a new garbage disposal and quoted me $695.00 (I was told this quote after the garbage disposal was removed and taken out of my house and to his truck.
The second item needing repair was a leaky shower in the master bathroom. The quote to replace the two valves was $200.00 per valve or $400.00 more. Grand total for the repair $1,095.00.
I checked the price of the disposal online and saw it was $83.95 and realized it took the SHADDY PLUMMER five minutes to remove it. I told home the price I found and he said let me call my boss. He came back with a new price of $395.00. I said why the 50% reduction and how do you know that’s whets wrong with my dishwasher? Next offer $325.00. I said no thank you; please put the dishwasher back- in. He said it was broken and wouldn't work. I said it worked before; I never gave you permission to take it out, put it back and make it work. I paid my $45.00 (a waste) and looked up a quality company with An "AAA" Better Business Bureau rating which I should have done in the first place.
I then called Paul Fisher's Advertisement in the paper solely based on his BBB score of AAA and spoke with him directly. He gave me exact price quotes over the phone. Explained he had been in business 23 years and prided himself on service and quality as well as integrity. He said he could come out that night (Saturday) but he would have to charge time and a half or he could have someone there at 8am sharp Monday before I left for work to save me a significant some of money since my problems weren't pressing.
His Plummer arrived at 8am sharp and we did not need a new garbage disposal. It was simply a blocked line to the dishwasher. The valves upstairs were bad, but the cost was much less. Mr. Fishers total charge with everything fixed perfectly (parts, labor and tax - $225.00). A far cry from the SHADDY PLUMMERS quote of $1,095.00 and I still would have had a broken dishwasher.
I strongly recommend Fisher Pluming! By Bruce Stone, Simi Valley
