Back in 9/2009 I had stopped playing WoW. Last month I was asked by a friend if I was back in WoW because they saw my main toon running around town. I was hacked. I changed my password and the next day reported to blizzard that my account had been hacked. They removed the token from my account and told me to log in and report any missing items. So I did and it took them 6-7 days to return only about half of my items that were missing. My guild bank and gold on toons was gone forever. Fine, I that go and went about playing.
Yesterday I got hit with an email from them saying that my account had been disabled due to a dispute that was filed against the account's past payments. The hacker used a stolen credit card to pay for the month of game time. I called up blizzard told them what had happened and after an hour of waiting on the phone just to get someone, was told that they would not remove it because I had been logging on during that stolen payment!
No where does it say in their FAQ, Terms of Use, or anything does give warning to a player who has been hacked that they should not use that game time paid for by the hacker. No where does it say that we'll end up getting hit with the chargeback if we use that game time. Even after I changed the payment information when I got my account back, they did not stop the month of payment made by the hacker.
This is a warning I'm sending out to all people who got their WoW accounts hacked. Be careful when logging on to your account that was paid for by a hacker!
