Passed my NCLEX-RN the first time with AHEC
Hello everyone, My name is Ziad and I received my BSN from West Coast University in the spring of 2015. After deliberating between numerous NCLEX-RN books and study courses, I came to know about AHEC through a friend. She was already enrolled in the 8-day course, so I decided to look into it. When I read the testimonials about this center, they seemed too good to be true. I was impressed by the positive reviews of those who had taken AHEC's extended or 8-day course that I decided to enroll myself in the 8-day course. I figured I would only need 8 days of comprehensive review since I was fresh out of nursing school, so I only signed up for 8 days. Two months of self-study had lapsed between completing AHEC's 8-day course and August 18th, 2015: the day of my NCLEX. Suffice it to say, I passed my NCLEX with 155 questions. My license was posted two days later. I'm officially a registered nurse! AHEC was instrumental in helping me obtain my nursing license due to its well organized format. The material was concise and easy to understand. I used the binder, the bullets, and the powerpoint slides to study. I made sure I understood EVERYTHING in that binder. It's next to impossible to memorized everything, so I just focused on understanding everything I read. I saved the bullets for last and I spent 3 days before the NCLEX reading through them as a final review. My tips for success are as follows: 1. Be consistent. Have an action plan for yourself. Study everyday, even if it's for a short period of time, study EVERYDAY. 2. Go easy on yourself. Make free time for your family and friends. They're your lifeline. Take a break for every hour of study. 3. Understand EVERYTHING you read. Don't focus on memorization too much. If you don't know something, ASK or look it up. The topics covered will show up on NCLEX. 4. Practice questions. 50 a day should suffice if you're doing them everyday. If you can do more, then by all means, do more. 5. Pace yourself when answering questions, especially on the NCLEX. Read each question CAREFULLY. I read the questions on the NCLEX twice before answering them. The process of elimination is your best friend. For the SATA questions, remember to treat them as true/false questions. 6. Prayer and a positive attitude Whether you have yet to take the test or have taken the test and failed once, twice, or maybe even multiple times, there's still hope! Name your weakness; whether it's test questions or content, you will find the solution here at AHEC. Peace be with you, Ziad
