I do not believe process servers call you first...they just serve you. I received a call from the process serving department and the caller ID came up with a Florida number...first of all I live in Illinois. It gave me case number and a number to call. I was put into contact with a Mr. James Winton but he had to put me on hold first when he picked up the line. Explained to me that I was in breach of contract with an old credit card debt and that they sent me several letters willing to settle the debt...that's funny I never received any letters. He said that they would settle for 900.00 dollars and I could give them 500.00 now and 450.00 later. Because I was so scared I agreed with him and gave him my debit card number(STUPID). Then I started to feel very uneasy about the situation and immediately called my bank this morning and had my debit card cancelled. Another thing...when I looked up the case number in my county it did not exist and there was no pending actions against me. My first sentence in this review should have tipped me off. These people are SCAMMERS...don't give them any information because they won't share with you the validity of the debt. I am just glad that I was able to stop my card in time.
